Electronic Arts has revealed EA Sports UFC 3, the latest installment in their MMA fighting series, and to no one’s surprise Conor McGregor will be the face of game. Following Ronda Rousey’s fall from grace, McGregor has emerged as the new face of UFC. The brash, mouthy, and tough-as-nails McGregor was really the only choice for EA to go with as cover athlete as he is undeniably the most electrifying fighter and entertaining showman in the UFC.

Conor McGregor is currently the UFC lightweight champion, and is the only UFC athlete to hold UFC titles in two weight classes simultaneously. Unfortunately, due to his inactivity in the devision, it was initially announced that McGregor vacated the Featherweight Championship, therefore promoting José Aldo to undisputed champion, but further reports say that McGregor was actually stripped of the title as confirmed by his coach.

Regardless, McGregor has made quite a name for himself in recent years, is now front-and-center as the game’s official global cover athlete. “Two belts, two covers – EA SPORTS got it right again,” UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor said. “It’s an honor to be on the cover and I can’t wait to play the game.”

As for the game itself, “EA SPORTS UFC 3 introduces a new generation of fighting for fight fans powered by Real Player Motion Tech, a revolutionary new gameplay animation technology that delivers the most fluid and responsive motion in EA SPORTS UFC history.  A new G.O.A.T. Career Mode now means that players’ choices outside UFC’s world-famous Octagon matter just as much as their performance inside it. This new mode allows you to strategically promote upcoming fights, create heated rivalries and more on the road to becoming the Greatest of All Time.”

EA SPORTS UFC 3 will be available worldwide on February 2, 2018 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Conor McGregor does have to be careful though. Just a day after being revealed as the cover star of EA SPORTS UFC 2, Rounda Rousey suffered the first loss of her career, with a devastating kick to the head from Holly Holm. Now McGregor has already lost in the MMA before, so there’s no undefeated streak on the line, but he is still the lightweight champion and presumably has Nate Diaz somewhere down the road.
