Mexicans are passionate, kind, proud, religious, family oriented, warmhearted, easygoing, generous, humble, and hardworking people.

Most of Mexicans speak Spanish however there are also sixty two native languages that are still alive and spoken by Mexican people that live in rural areas.

Some 95% of Mexicans are Christians but there are also Mexicans that are Muslims, Hebrew, Buddhists, etc.

Interesting thing is that even though the great majority of Mexicans declare themselves as Christians and they speak Spanish there is neither official religion nor official language in Mexico. This civil liberties and democratic way of living is guarantied to all Mexican people by their Constitution of 1917 and the anti-clerical laws that imposed limitations on the church.

Mexican Family Life

Family is the most important institution in Mexico which is why family always comes first to all Mexicans. Mexicans are well aware of the fact that the strong, united and loving family is the best social support and one of the most important preconditions to the healthy, stress-free, and fulfilling life.

Unfortunately even Mexicans are not immune to the phenomena called globalization and its negative effects such as the loss of the national identity, family values (family identity), traditions, and so on. This is the reason why some Mexicans that live in the industrialized parts of Mexico such as the Mexico City tend to loose the traditional Mexican compass and traditional Mexican way of living.

Mexican Way of Living

Mexicans love to eat good food, drink high quality liquor, listen and dance to the music, and celebrate like there is no tomorrow.

The best proof of the Mexican food quality is the fact that Mexican food recipes have the constant high demand, and that millions of people around the world enjoy the authentic Mexican cuisine every day.

Mexican drink recipes also have very high demand and you would probably have great difficulty to find a bar or restaurant anywhere in the world that doesn’t serve the most famous Mexican alcohol drink Tequila, or Mexican beer (Corona, Sol, etc) or Mexican cocktails such as the Margaritas.

Another thing that numerous people enjoy around the Globe is the Mexican contagious music and its specific, exotic rhythm. Of course if you mix the good food, great drinks, contagious music (rhythm) and dances you will get one great party or as Mexicans call it Fiesta. This is why the Mexican fiestas are one of the most exiting and definitely memorable experiences you can have.

Mexicans are very passionate people and they tend to enjoy life to its fullest. Very good representatives of the Mexican passion are the Mexican fiestas mentioned above; sport events such as the major soccer matches that literary paralyze the entire Mexico, the Mexican dance of love, etc.

Mexicans enjoy freedom and they are very proud of their heritage and history. Mexicans love their flag and other symbols of their nationality and they are very national oriented. However that doesn’t mean that they don’t respect other nations. On contrary, Mexican people are famous for their hospitality and kindness.

Finally, there is a Mexican saying which describes the difference between the Mexican and Western (American, European) life style: Americans live to work, but Mexicans work to live.

There are many world-famous Mexicans that have contributed a lot to the science, social liberties, art, music, cinema, politics, sport, and so on. Just for the illustration some of them are: Juana Inez de la Cruz, Alfonso Reyes, Carlos Castaneda, Emiliano Zapata, Franciso Pancho Villa, Father Miguel Hidalgo, Manuel Ponce, Martin Luis Guzman, Fernando Valenzuela, Diego Rivera, Carlos Santana, Manual Medina, Lucas Alaman, Salma Hayek, etc.
