Islamic world organization for education, science and culture (ICESCO) announced on Tuesday that will give as a reward of 200 000 US dollars for finding a cure or vaccine COVID-19.
This initiative reflects the awareness of organizations about the consequences of threatening virus become a global pandemic with serious impact on the global socio-economic situation, the statement said the organization, based in Rabat.
The statement quoted Director General of ICESCO Salim al-Malik that the establishment of this award is consistent with the new vision of ICESCO, which emphasizes the need of using applied research as a tool to find appropriate solutions to urgent and complex issues.
ICESCO also called upon all governments, international organizations and civil society institutions to assume their role and to intensify its efforts to combat the spread of this dangerous virus.
