PREPARATION FOR JULY 2017 CONGREGATION

If you are in good standing academically and wish to attend Congregation read all information on this website which includes academic dress information, and then register on-line for the Congregation.

The July 2017 Congregation ceremonies are scheduled for Friday, 21st and Saturday, 22nd July 2017 at the Great Hall. Registration will be done ONLINE and payment through Ecobank branches or by debit/credit card online. Please ensure you register online before payment to avoid difficulties.

 

Registration for Congregation

Registration for the Congregation Ceremony will be open from Tuesday, 4h July 2017 at 9:00am until Monday,17th  July 2017 at 12:00 midnight.   Please read the following information carefully.

Students eligible for graduation at the University ofGhanamay register for the Congregation Ceremony. Click here to find out what it means to eligible for graduation and click here to check if you are on the graduation list for this Congregation.

It is advised that students with missing grades contact relevant examiners at the Department to resolve the issue in good time. By 4th July, it would be too late for inclusion in the graduating list.

Students with outstanding bills should contact the Student Accounts Office promptly to settle them. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that obligations on his/her account to the University are met to enable records to be cleared for registration. Students with outstanding fees on their account will be tagged and may be barred from registration and receipt of their UG Transcripts/Certificates.

Step1: Online Registration:

Access list of graduating (eligible) students here: http://www.ug.edu.gh/graduation/graduandssrch.php .

Authenticate log in using student ID Number and PIN (Same as used on the MIS web). Once logged in, graduands will be able to directly register for Congregation.

Please check the spelling of your name carefully, as this will be used on the call list for the ceremony. If it is incorrect, please notify the Academic Officer of your College.  Errors in student’s records on the MIS Web should be reported as they will reflect on certificate.   Note: Kindly check with the appropriate College Academic Office if you qualify for Graduation and cannot find your name.

To register, you need to simply input your correct and reliable phone numberandemail. The date and session for ceremony are pre-assigned.  Submit your registration online. If possible, print out a copy of the registration confirmation for your records. Ensure that you register before you pay the congregation ceremony fee to avoid any difficulties.

DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT FOR CONGREGATION: 

TUESDAY, 17TH JULY 2017  – 12:00 MIDNIGHT PROMPT!     

 

Step 2: Payment for Registration:

To complete registration, Graduands need to pay a non-refundable fee of GH¢250.00 before12:00midnight onTuesday, 17th July 2017. Graduands should ensure that they have first registered online for the appropriate session before making any payment. Please take note that Graduands who do not register for the Congregation Ceremony will pay the same fee for issuance of their certificates. See the Payment Option page for more information. Please note that, payments may only be done within the period of 4th – 17th July 2017, after which access will be closed. Late payment is not permitted,

Following the deadline for registration, session and seat number for all paid-up graduands will be posted online on the Registration Page and sent via SMS (usually two days before the ceremony). If this information is not received, please contact the Academic Officer of your College promptly.

Please note again that registration will be closed after the deadline and payment cannot be accepted.

Step 3: Collection and Return of Academic Gowns:

After payment, graduands should proceed to the collection point at their School/College to receive an academic gown, UG souvenirs and invitation cards. To be allowed to collect your gown, you will need to show your UG Student ID card. Although not normally required, ensure that you have with you your Bank payment voucher or a printout of your online payment report to help if verification if needed.

The gown set comprises a gown, hood and cap. These must be carefully examined before receipt as on return they will either not be accepted in a damaged condition, or if accepted, a penalty fee will be charged. It is recommended that gowns should be collected by the graduand only, as it is necessary to fit the gown to ensure that you have the correct size.  GRADUANDS SHOULD NOT LAUNDER GOWNS/HOODS AS THEY ARE CLEANED PRIOR TO DISTRIBUTION.

Gown sets should be returned to the same collection point from Monday, July 24, 2017 (soon after the Congregation ceremony) to Friday, July 28, 2017.  Non-return of gowns will accumulate aweekly penalty after close of the deadline.  Payment of penalty accrued will be required before Academic Certificate is released to the graduand.
