UPSA ADMISSION OF APPLICANTS TO BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN ACTUARIAL SCIENCE DEGREE PROGRAMME FOR THE 2016/2017 ACADEMIC YEAR

Regular (Morning) Session available for Level 100 entry only
Evening & Weekend Sessions are available for Level 100 and Level 200 entries

1. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) & Senior
Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE Applicants.
West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) & Senior Secondary School
Certificate Examination (SSSCE) applicants must have at least credit passes (i.e. grade A1-C6
and grade A-D respectively) in three core subjects including English Language,
Mathematicsand Integrated Science/Social Studies in addition to any three elective
subjects including Elective Mathematics with an aggregate score of 24 or better.

LEVEL 100
Category A
General Certificate ofEducation(GCE) Advanced Level Holders:
Passes in any three (3) subjects including Mathematics (at least, one of the passes should be
grade D or better) at the GCE Advanced Level plus a pass in General Paper. In addition, the
applicant must have had credit passes (Grade 6) or better in five (5) subjects including English
Language, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics and any Science Subject at the GCE
Ordinary (‘O’) Level.

LEVEL 200
Category B
Post-Secondary Teacher’s Certificate ‘A’/Diploma inEducationCertificate with
specialization in Mathematics Education awarded by any University recognized by the
NationalAccreditationBoard.

Category C
Recognized Professional Qualifications:
At least complete Level One (1) of any of the following recognized professional
qualifications:
ICSA, CIM, CIMA, ACCA, ICAG and CIB only.

Category D
Holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) awarded by NABPTEX with at least Second
Class Lower or University Diploma from any University recognized by the National
Accreditation Board with Final Cumulative Grade Point Average (FCGA) of at least 2.5
preferably in Statistics. In addition In addition, the HND applicants must have acquired a 2-
year post HND qualification working experience. including Elective Mathematics or credit passes in five (5) subjects including English Language,
Mathematics, Additional Mathematics and any Science subject at the GCE ‘O’ Level.

2.HOW TO APPLY

All applications are to be strictly completed online
(i) Log on to admissions.upsa.edu.gh to access the online application form.
(ii) Use the Online Serial Numbers (OSN) and the receipt number to start the
application process.

available for purchase at the cost of GH¢200.00 for Ghanaian Applicants and
US$120.00 for International Applicants at the followingsalespoints:

3. SUBMISSION OF SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS
Using A-4 manila envelope, all applicants must submit the following documents by hand
delivery:
A printed-out and endorsed applicant’s declaration slip
Certified copies of all certificate(s)
Original transcript(s) of academic records (applicable to holders of professional
qualifications, University Diploma and HND applicants only) Birth certificate
The manila envelope should be submitted to the address below:
