If your upright vacuum cleaner has no power, these three things are the ones to check for right away.
- Cord – Check to see if the vacuum cleaner cord is worn, cut up or damaged. If any of these things are true, the cord needs to be replaced.
- Switch – Some upright vacuum cleaners are equipped with a thermal switch that is located near the motor. If your vacuum cleaner has no power try resetting this switch. On some machines, the switch may reset itself after the vacuum cleaner cools down.
- Motor – If the vacuum cleaner motor does not work when your machine is turned on, this might be an indication that the motor is be defective and needs to be replaced.
