The centers for disease control said Thursday that the man quarantined at a military base in San Antonio, gave a positive test result for the virus, bringing the number of confirmed patients with mers in the United States reached 15.
The man, who was not identified, arrived at the base last week on a Charter flight, the state Department and is currently in isolation at a hospital in the area.
