Health officials in the United States will begin to check some people with flu symptoms for the presence of coronavirus infection COVID-2019.
Patients in five cities will be tested if tests for influenza are negative, said Dr. Nancy Messonnier, Director of the National center for immunization and respiratory diseases, at a briefing on Friday.
According to her, the health workers will use a nationwide network of surveillance that have already been created to track influenza. Five cities — Chicago, Los Angeles, new York, San Francisco and Seattle.
“We have to be prepared for the fact that it will spread, “said Dr. Massone.
