The Ministry of health of Algeria Sunday, March 15, confirmed the death of a fourth patient infected COVID-19.
In a statement, the Ministry said that this is the fourth death of 84-year-old woman was recorded Sunday, at the hospital of Frantz Fanon in Blida province, 50 km South-East of Algiers.
The source also added that the total number of confirmed cases has reached 48 after the health authorities discovered more new cases of infection.
The statement said that the epidemiological investigation is still ongoing to find out and identify all the people who were in contact with these infected patients.
The Ministry urged the Algerians to postpone their travel abroad, if possible, and urged Algerian citizens abroad to defer their trips to Algeria.
The Ministry of health noted that the vigilance system remains in force, and medical teams have been mobilized at the highest level to combat the pandemic coronavirus.
