President Uhuru Kenyatta has announced two new confirmed cases COVID-19 in the country.
The announcement was made simultaneously with the adoption of a number of measures and directives aimed at controlling the spread of the new coronavirus in the Eastern African country.
Monday, March 16 elementary schools closed. It is expected that residential schools will send students home by mid-week, and higher education institutions should be closed by the end of the week, the President said.
For the next 48 hours will enter into force strict limitations on travel. All inbound travel from countries with registered cases of the disease will be suspended for one month. Only Kenyan citizens and legal residents will be allowed in Kenya.
All new members will need to be placed in quarantine for 14 days.
The President advised Kenyans to gather at events such as weddings, funerals and religious services. He also urged companies and offices to allow their employees to work from home.
