The airline TAP Portugal announced on Monday, March 9, on reducing bandwidth for the next few months for around 2,500 additional flights, bringing the total reduction will amount to 3,500 flights.
These measures are “justified by the reduction in bookings for travel in the coming months, which occurred in the last days” because of the epidemic of the coronavirus, said in a statement to TAP.
Last week, the Portuguese carrier has announced a reduction of 1,000 flights. Total reduction of 3,500 flight is equivalent to “7 percent of the flights scheduled for March, 11 percent in April and 19 percent in may,” the statement said.
The company activated its own schedule of actions in emergency usloviyah since the beginning of the outbreak of coronavirus.
TAP said that “will contact all passengers affected by these cancellations, and together with them find the best options and alternatives for their trips.”
