The United States will evacuate Americans from the cruise ship that was quarantined for more than a week off the coast of Japan due to coronavirus infection on Board, reported in the American Embassy in Tokyo on Saturday 15 February.
American passengers and crew members in the email from the Embassy said that on Sunday will arrive a Charter flight for those who want to return to the United States.
Ship “Diamond Princess” has been placed under quarantine in Yokohama in the beginning of last week, when the Board were about 3700 passengers and crew members, after the man landed in Hong Kong, was tested positive for the coronavirus. Since the ship was confirmed no less than 218 cases.
On Board were about 400 Americans, and at least 40 people infected with the virus, were removed from the ship for treatment.
The Americans will necessarily aimed at the 14-day Federal quarantine and will be placed in two existing quarantine areas in California and Texas, the statement said the Centers for control and prevention of diseases on Saturday.
