The number of cases of coronavirus in Germany increased to 188, said Tuesday the Agency for the fight against diseases of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).
Most cases were registered in the northwestern state of North Rhine-Westphalia, where at least 101 patients were infected with the novel coronavirus, known as COVID-19, said at a press conference in Berlin, Vice-President RKI Lars Shade.

The German authorities temporarily closed two schools in Berlin Emanuel-Lasker-Schule Berlin Metropolitan school, due to concerns related to the virus.

The world health organization, which has declared the outbreak an international emergency in the areas of health, raised the level of global awareness about mers with high to very high.
