British authorities warned on Friday, March 13 that trade talks between the UK and the European Union after Brexit can be delayed because of concerns about COVID-19.
The Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Michael GOV said it was “the burning question” will there be another round of meetings on 30 March after the EU has warned London about the dangers of meeting eye to eye.
“We have information from Belgium that can be a particular public health problem,” he said.
Eliminating any delay in the process of Brexit, Gove told the lawmakers that will keep them informed of any new developments with the negotiations.
The prospect of moving proceedings will cause further uncertainty as both sides are struggling to find common ground.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has previously warned – it is expected that in June the country will see a “General plan” of the agreement. Otherwise, he will be forced to start preparing for a sharp departure from the Eurozone.
Brexit transition period, during which the UK will comply with EU rules, ends in December.
