Making Deviled Eggs for Easter has become a tradition in many American families. Instead of dyeing the outside shells of hard boiled eggs, think about dyeing the inside and using the egg whites and yolks to make a classic recipe. As you can see, the resulting Easter Deviled Eggs make a beautiful plate for family gatherings, especially when you use neon dyes. You just remove the hard boiled eggs from their shells, cut the eggs into halves, and dye the whites. Depending on how dark you want your colors to be will determine how long you dip the egg whites into the food coloring. Check out our Deviled Eggs recipe below for directions on how to make this classic Easter hors d’oeuvre.
On a separate note, any time you make Deviled Eggs, you always need to hard boil a couple more eggs than your serving size, in case a few eggs crack due to heat or rattling in the pot. Hence, our serving size is 10 but we recommend you boil 12 eggs. Click the following for more information on how to hard boil eggs.

Directions
Step#1: Remove the shells from your hard boiled eggs. Be careful not to damage the egg whites to maintain a clean appearance for your dish. Slice each egg into halves, lengthwise.
Step#2: Squeeze the egg whites gently to remove the yolk centers. Place the egg yolks in a bowl to make your Deviled Eggs filling later.
Step#3: Add 3 to 5 drops of food coloring (depending on your choice of color darkness) and 1 tablespoon of vinegar to each cup of cold water.
Step#4: Dip the egg whites into the different food colorings until desired color tint is achieved. If you can dip multiple egg whites into a cup, do so to save time.
Step#5:After you have colored your eggs, remove from the cups and place them on a plate with a paper towel or two. This will soak up any remaining dye left. After a few minutes, place the finished egg whites on the serving tray you will be using.
Step#6: Using a fork, mash the egg yolks you left in the bowl earlier. Mix in a half cup of mayonnaise to create a creamy, smooth, and evenly mixed filling. This would also be the time to add and mix in any other ingredients you want, such as cut onions, celery, olives, pickle relish, lobster or crab meat, cheese, etc.
Step #7: Using a spoon, pastry bag, or Ziploc bag with a hole in one corner, spoon or pipe the Deviled Eggs filling into the egg white centers. Using a pastry bag or freezer bag will allow you to make cute designs, but a spoon is simpler and more convenient.
Step #8: Lastly, sprinkle some paprika or red pepper onto the tops of your Deviled Eggs. Your choice of garnish depends on your family’s preference.
