If you’ve been playing Madden 18’s Ultimate Team you’re probably well aware of the issues plaguing the online mode. Not only is MUT experiencing disconnect issues, but there’s also an exploit in which players are able to unfairly win head to head games by intentionally disconnected (and no, I won’t explain how to do it).
In any case, EA is aware of the problems and have addressed player concerns in a post on their blog. The good news is that EA is cracking down on the intentional exploiters, especially those in the competitive scene. As for the unintentional disconnect issues, EA is “diligently working” to identify the root of the issue and find a solution. Unfortunately, no answer yet.
On the topic of the H2H Exploit issue, EA said: “Over the weekend our team deployed a server-side update addressing a H2H exploit players were using to unfairly win games. We are continuing to monitor the situation and taking action against any accounts still attempting to earn a win via cheating.”
As for the H2H Disconnect issue: “Our team is aware that some users are experiencing issues disconnecting from online games, and we are diligently working to identify the root cause of the issue and find a solution. We will continue to keep the community updated as progress is made.”
And for those of you concerned around the disconnects and how that impacts Competitive Gaming, EA stated: “Our competitive gaming team has dedicated members who review all competitor accounts for any malicious activity or cheating. Before any player advances to the next round their account is thoroughly vetted to ensure fair competition.”
It’s nice to see EA addressing these issues and concerns, but I’m sure many Ultimate Team players are just looking for a fix as soon as possible.
