EA has lifted the lid on Madden 18 gameplay… FINALLY!
The Madden community has been posting various gameplay clips showing off the brand new Frostbite Game Engine. The results are simply magnificent.
The graphical improvements are noticeable and gameplay seems much smoother in Madden 18, but where the engine truly shines is with its weather effects and lighting. Below are some full gameplay videos showcasing Madden 18’s weather effects.
The first is the Packers vs Bears playing in the Snow.
Snow games are by far my favorite in Madden, and Frostbite looks to mark a major improvement. I love how you can see the actual footprints players leave as they trudge though the snow.
Next we’ve got the Dolphins vs Bills in the rain.
While it’s not pouring rain, it’s enough to show us the power of Frostbite Engine. Pay particular attention to the player closeups and you can see actual drops of water on their arms.
It doesn’t appear that weather has much of an impact on actual gameplay, but it certainly does look pretty. What do you think of Madden 18’s Frostbite Engine so far?
