Admissionof Candidates to Undergraduate and Postgraduate Degree Programmes For the2016/2017Academic Year
It is announced for the information of prospective Applicants and the general public that Application Forms for Admission to the following programmes of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science andTechnology, throughDistance Learning Modeand hosted by the Directorate of Degree and Distance Learning Programmes, All-Over Polytechnic, Nigeria for the 2016/2017 Academic Year are now on sale:
1. MSc. Information Technology
Candidates must have one of the following: A first degree with at least a second class Lower from an accredited university or university colleges in any of the following areas:
Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Communication and Technology,BusinessInformation Technology,Mathematics, Engineering, Social Science with a strong background in Mathematics
Students with weak computer science background (Social science students) especially in programming may be required to take additional courses as may be deemed necessary by the Department.
2. MSc/MPhil. Industrial Finance and Investments
The MSc./MPhil Industrial Finance and InvestmentsProgrammeis an advanced professional oriented international qualification open to working professionals fromGhanaand other countries who want to develop career in the field of finance and investments. Applicants are required to hold:
A good First degree, preferably Second class lower or better in any of the following disciplines: Accounting; Commerce; Business Administration; Banking and Finance; Mathematics; Statistics; Economics; Actuarial Science; Engineering; Physics; Computer Science and related disciplines.
OR
A final Professional Certificate (i.e. Chartered Level) from ACCA, ICAG, CFA and CIMA plus a minimum of 2 years working experience.
3.MSc. Environmental Science
This programme is open to candidates with a good first degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Geography, Culture andTourism, Natural Resource Management and Agriculture.
4.Master of Public Administration
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts or Science. Admission preference would be given to candidates working within the Public Service.
5. Master of Public Administration
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts or Science. Admission preference would be given to candidates working within the Public Service.
6. MSc/MPhil Procurement Management
This programme introduces students to the legal instruments and institutional arrangements for modern procurement systems. It aims at equipping students with skills for designing systems that prevent and detect fraud/corruption in the procurement process. Students through this programme would be abreast with internationally accepted principles governing sound management of procurement systems.
Applicants must hold a good Bachelor’s degree in Building Technology (Construction Technology and Management or Quantity Surveying and Construction Economics); Civil Engineering; Land Economy; Business Administration and Management or Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture.Graduatesfrom other disciplines can also apply.
For the purposes of assessing suitability, all postgraduate candidates may be required to take an interview or entrance examination or both. Applicants who wish to pursue the MPhil must submit (in about 500 to 700 words) the following:
(a) An outline of research proposal
(b) Statement of purpose
General Requirements for All Programmes:
In addition to programme specific requirements indicated below, applicants must have at least 5 (five) credits in GCE “O” Level /six (6)Credits in SSSCE/WASSCE subjects in the relevant areas, including English Language, Mathematics and Science.
1. BSc. Geomatic Engineering
Applicants must have a Higher National Diploma with at least lower credit from an accredited Institution in Surveying, Geodetic/Geomatic Engineering or any related discipline.
2. BSc. Agricultural Engineering
Applicants must hold Higher National Diploma from an accredited Institution with at least a Lower Credit in Agricultural Engineering.
3. BSc. Business Administration
Applicants must have a Higher National Diploma from an accredited Institution with at least Lower Credit in Business-related areas, such as Accounting, Secretarial, Management, Purchasing and Supply,Marketing, Hospitality Management etc.
4. BSc. Computer Engineering
Applicants must hold a Higher National Diploma from an accredited Institution with at least Lower Credit in Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering or Telecommunication Engineering.
5. BSc. Mechanical Engineering
Applicants must have a Higher National Diploma from an accredited Institution with at least Lower Credit in any of the following Mechanical Engineering disciplines:
6.Building Technology (in the areas of BSc. Construction Technology and Management or
BSc. Quantity Surveying and Construction Economics);HND in Building Technology or its equivalent diploma certificate. A sound background in Mathematics is required.

BSc. Quantity Surveying and Construction Economics (QSCE)
SSSCE/WASSCE Applicants: Candidates must obtain:
i. CREDITS in Core subjects: English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science
ii. Candidates who read Science or Technical should have credit in Elective/ Further Mathematics;
iii. Candidates who read General Arts should have credits in Elective/ Further Mathematics, Geography and Economics.
iv. In all an applicant must obtain an aggregate of 24 or better.
Applicants are required to visit our admissions website(for undergraduate)and (for postgraduate), follow the instructions to complete their application online after payment of the appropriate Application Fee. They are required to print a copy of the online form and attach photocopies of the Relevant Documents and Payment Teller to be submitted to;
