Courses Offered At Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College

The Master of Arts DegreeProgrammeis a scheme that allows students of GAFCSC to pursue extra courses of prescribed studies in order to gain postgraduate Degrees in International Relations or Leadership and Governance. Theprogrammesare jointly sponsored by GAFCSC,LegonCentre for International Affairs (LECIA) andGIMPArespectively and are accredited by the NationalAccreditationBoard.

The objectives for introducing the post graduate courses at GAFCSC are:

• To enhance and sharpen the intellectual analytical ability and professional skills of Military Officers in a rapidly changing global environment.
• To adequately prepare Officers for a more meaningful post service civilian life.
• To provide opportunities for the acquisition of post graduate or higher degrees for selected Officers; and to contribute to the capacity building of the nation.

THE MASTERS PROGRAMME

In consonance with its mandate, GAFCSC, under the auspices and directions of the Legon Centre for International Affairs (LECIA) of the University ofGhanawill offer a 12-month (two semesters) MA in International Affairs.  The total study programme for the Masters shall comprise the following:

• Core courses
• Prescribed elective courses
• Dissertation
