Medical laboratory technicians (MLTs), who must have at least an associate degree, and medical laboratory scientists (MLSs), who have earned a bachelor’s degree, do about 75 perfect of all patient care testing in a clinical setting and help doctors make diagnoses. They perform a variety of complex chemical and analytical tests on patient specimens to help put the pieces of the puzzle together.
