ADMISSION OF APPLICANTS TO BACHELOR OF LAWS (LLB) DEGREE PROGRAMME FOR THE 2016/2017 ACADEMIC YEAR.

Applications are invited from qualiFIed applicants for admission to the BACHELOR OF LAWS (LLB) Degreeprogrammefor the2016/2017Academic Year.

The University offers the LLB Degree programme in two cohorts:
Four (4)-Year LLB Degree Programme for Non First Degree Holders
Three (3)-Year LLB Degree Programme for First Degree Holders

1. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
FOUR (4)-YEAR LL.B DEGREE PROGRAMME FOR NON-FIRST
DEGREE HOLDERS (FULL-TIME DAY)
West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) &
Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE Applicants.
West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) & Senior
Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) applicants must have at
least credit passes (i.e. grade A1-C6 and grade A-D respectively) in three core
subjects including English Language,Mathematicsand Integrated
Science/Social Studies in addition to any three elective subjects with an
aggregate score of 24 or better.
Category A
Category B
General Certificate ofEducation(GCE) Advanced Level Holders:
Passes in any three (3) subjects (at least, one of the passes should be grade D or
better) at the GCE Advanced Level plus a pass in General Paper. In addition,
the applicant must have had credit passes (Grade 6) or better in five (5) subjects
including English Language, Mathematics and any Science Subject at the
GCE Ordinary (‘O’) Level.
Category C
AdvancedBusinessCertificate Examinations (ABCE) Holders:
Full diploma certificate (passes in any five (5) subjects at the ABCE level and at
least two of the passes should be grade D or better). In addition, the applicant
must have had credit passes in five (5) subjects including English Language,
Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies in the GBCE or SSSCE or
WASSCE.
Category D
Post-Secondary Teacher’s Certificate ‘A’/Diploma inEducationCerticate
awarded by any University recognized by the NationalAccreditationBoard.
Category E
Holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) awarded by NABPTEX with at
least Second Class Lower or University Diploma from any University
recognized by the National Accreditation Board with Final Cumulative Grade
Point Average (FCGA) of at least 2.5.
Applicants, who qualify under Categories C, D and E, must in addition have
WASSCE/SSSCE/GBCE credit passes in three (3) core subjects and two(2) electives
subjects or credit passes in five (5) subjects including English Language,
Mathematics and any Science subject at the GCE ‘O’ Level.

THREE (3)-YEAR LLB PROGRAMME FOR FIRST DEGREE
HOLDERS (FULL-TIME EVENING)
The Three (3) Year LLB Programme is an option for holders of first degree
with at least third class or its equivalent who want to pursue the programme
on full-time basis but will have to attend lectures in the evening. It is open to
applicants with degrees or their equivalents in any discipline from any
recognised university.
ENTRANCE EXAMINATION AND SELECTION INTERVIEW
Short-listed applicants in both the three (3) and four (4)-year LLB programme
cohorts shall submit to both written examination and interview as follows:
th (I) Entrance Examination: Saturday, 17 September, 2016
Time: 8.00am to 5.00pm

2. OPEN DAY
There will be an OPEN DAY for applicants to learn more about the Faculty,
curriculum and application process at the Auditorium, University of
th Professional Studies,Accraon Saturday, 27 August, 2016 at 10:00 am
prompt.
3.HOW TO APPLY
Completion of Online Application Form
All applications are to be strictly completed online
(I) Log on to admissions.upsa.edu.gh to access the online
application form.
(ii) Use the Online Serial Numbers (OSN) and the receipt
number to start the application process.
Purchase of Online Serial Numbers (OSN)
Online Serial Numbers (OSN) for the University of Professional
Studies, Accra are available for purchase at the cost of GH¢200.00
for Ghanaian Applicants and US$120.00 for International
Applicants at the followingsalespoints:
a) Any branch of Ecobank or Access Bank
b) ByMTN mobile moneyservices
c) All Post Offices country-wide

4. SUBMISSION OF SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS
Using A-4 manila envelope, all applicants must submit the following
documents by hand delivery:
A printed-out and endorsed applicant’s declaration slip
Certified copies of all certificate(s)
Original transcript(s) of academic records (applicable to holders of
first degree, professional certificates and University Diploma &
HND applicants only)
Birth certificate
Passport-sized photograph must be attached to any hard copy
document being submitted at every stage of the application
process.
The manila envelope should be submitted to the address below:

the Closing date for submission is Wednesday, 7 September, 2016.

1. Applicants who do not meet any of the requirements above
MUST NOT APPLY. Fees paid to the University are
NOT refundable.
2. Only successful applicants will be notified.
