2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and the Possibility of Complete Changes

There have been different rumors, updates, and news about the upcoming 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 especially with some wild predictions and also the sightings of the test mule. But then again, we don’t really know for sure, considering the hush-hush atmosphere that Chevy is creating. Sure, it would be exciting if they can come with a new model for the 2019 model but the process won’t be easy as expected, for sure.

2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Rumors

Yes, the Z06 has been considered the flagship and promising outcome from Chevy but it doesn’t mean that they aren’t going to take it to the next level. All these years, they have been working on a mid-engine Corvette design. You can say that they are pretty obsessed about it. And the new 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is said to come with the mid-engine arrangement, just like Chevy wants. But then again, it is another rumor spread around due to the sightings of the test vehicles so you shouldn’t be too excited about it because Chevy hasn’t said anything to confirm it.

2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Design

So far, it seems that C8 is the prototype vehicle that has been spotted during the spy shots. This is the suspected new Corvette that is predicted to come during Detroit international Motor Show 2018 as the 2019 model. The introduction is said to come along with the C7 prototype that is designed to be the new ZR1.

Although not much can be revealed for the test mule, it is obvious that the C8 is quite the same with the C7 construction although it has wider and also lower stance. Will it come with the vertical lift door? Doesn’t seem like it. It is possible that there will be a glass sheet placed on the center to showcase the engine but it is not yet a solid planning because the company is still struggling with the heat management. So far, there hasn’t been any information about the changes happening to the interior cabin of 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 although comfort and premium atmosphere would be a sure thing.

Again, there is no official confirmation about the types of engine or powertrain configuration but it is a Corvette, remember? A possibility of the V8 engine is always likely. Or, if Chevy is looking for a cheaper alternative without compromising power, V6 turbocharged engine is always possible. Moreover, it is also possible with dual clutch seven-speed transmission. All in all, Corvette is still looking for a way to make their mid-engine configuration comes true which is going to be difficult, really. If they insist on the mid-engine arrangement, they must change the platform completely and it is going to cost more. And for this 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 production alone, they have spent quite a lot.

Considering that this Corvette is going to release as the 2019 model, Detroit Auto Show will seem like an ideal place for introducing the vehicle, followed by the production. It is most likely that the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will be available by the end of 2018 with price tag starting from $80,000.
