Salma Valgarma Hayek Jimnez is born on September 2, 1966 in Mexico.

She was raised in a wealthy and traditional Mexican family and had a good but challenging childhood due to her dyslexia. This however didnt stop her from working hard and achieving the world fame.

In 2007 a poll (done in United States) found Hayek to be the “sexiest celebrity” out of 3,000 celebrities. In 2008, Entertainment Weekly ranked Hayek number 15 in their list of the “25 Smartest People in TV, and The Hollywood Reporter ranked Hayek fourth in their list of the most powerful members of the Hollywood Latino community.

Interesting thing is that Mexican actress Salma Hayek is the first Mexican national to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress.
