I’m proud of the color of my skin,

but the true Mexican comes within.

My skin color on people has an effect,

every body looks at me with respect.

I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world,

even if they offered me a pot of gold.

I thank my mom for giving me a heart,

I thank my dad for showing me to be proud from the start.
