TheGhanaPolice Service would from Monday September 5, open application for another set of new recruits. This exercise will target degree holders and professionals including lawyers with at least three years working experience.
Meanwhile, the police will from next week, release the list of recruits in the recent recruitment exercise.
Public Relations Director of theGhana Police Service, Superintendent Cephas Arthur, said the purpose of the exercise will help bring more professionals in the service.“We have various levels of enlistment or recruitment into the service. We have basic recruitment to start from the scratch; constables and then you climb up. And then we have another level being graduate recruitment then we have another one for professionals.”
“We have another one for people with vocations then we have for medical specialists, auditors, the engineering aspect of communication, public relations practitioners, legal officers, people with statistics background, clinical psychologists, biochemistry, those people are all going to have slots within this particular enlistment,” he added.
Police recruits more personnel
The Police administration about two months commenced enlistment of new officers into the service.
Degree holders who want to be enlisted in theGhanaPolice Service would be required to pay GH¢100 for the recruitment process. Details of the specific areas for qualified persons are expected to be published in the national daily newspapers Monday September 5, 2016.
“Applicants will be directed to submit applications at the National Police Headquarters and also the Regional Police Headquarters in Kumasi and Tamale together with a GHC 100.00 GCB bankers draft as specified,” a statement from COP Ransford Moses Ninson, Director-General of Police Administration said in a statement.
The statement to the regional desks of the Ghana Police Service indicated that he has been directed by the Inspector General Police asking them to set up a recruitment desk made up of at least three (3) Senior Police Officers including one personnel from the RegionalFinanceUnit to receive and record all applications and bankers drafts.
All received applications are to be submitted to national Headquarters of the Ghana Police Service after the close of applications on 30th September, 2016, the statement noted.
Director of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, Superintendent Cephas Arthur who first disclosed the upcoming enlistment to TV3 on Friday mentioned doctors, nurses, auditors, communications engineers, public relations practitioners, legal officers as some of the areas they would be considering.
He advised prospective police officers to be wary of persons who would want to thank advantage of their desperation to dupe them. “We have not contracted any middlemen to recruit on our behalf,” Supt. Arthur warned.
