KNUST Department Of Medical Laboratory Technology Entry Requirements

1. WASSCE/SSSCE APPLICANTS

Applicants must possess:

Credits (A1-C6/ A-D Respectively) in the followingThree (3)CoreSubjects:English Language,Mathematicsand Integrated Scienceplus credits (A1-C6) inThree Electivesubjects namely, Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics.

Applicants with Diploma/Certificate in Medical LaboratoryTechnologywith at least one year post qualification experience shall be interviewed.

2.    ADVANCED LEVELAPPLICANTS

Applicants must possess:

Credits inFive(5) subjects at the GCE ‘O’ Level includingEnglish Language and Mathematics, plus three (3) passes in Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics obtained at the Advanced Level.

3.    MATURE APPLICANTS

Applicants should have attained the age of25 yearsor above at the time of submitting the application and must possess:

            i.     Credits inFive (5) GCE ‘O’ Level subjectsincluding English Language and Mathematics plusthree (3) GCE ‘A’ Level passesin Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics.

OR

          ii.     Passes in the three (3) SSSCE core subjects namely, English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus passes in three (3) SSSCE elective subjects namely, Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics.

OR

        iii.     A Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology with at least one (1) year post qualification experience and must pass an interview. Successful applicants will be placed in the second year to do atop-upin theprogramme.

OR

        iv.    University Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology with two (2) years post-qualification experienceand must pass an interview.Successful applicants will be placedin the third (3^rd) year to do atop-upin the programme.

OR

        v.    Ministry ofHealthDiploma in Medical Laboratory Technology with two (2) years post-qualification experienceand must pass an interview.Successful applicants will be placedin the second (2^nd) year to do atop-upin the programme.

OR

     vi.    HND in Science Laboratory Technology with two (2) years post-qualification experienceand must pass

an interview.Successful applicants will be placedin the second (2^nd) year to do atop-upin the programme.
