Auditions for this year’s Athletic Garage dance scholarship program are fast approaching! The Athletic Garage will hold open auditions at its studio, in Pasadena, CA, on Saturday afternoon, September 22. The Athletic Garage has posted extensive dance scholarship program audition guidelines.
The Athletic Garage’s rigorous 6-month, 17-class-per-week scholarship program is designed for serious and committed individuals age 18-26 with beginning to advanced skills in dance. (Applicants must be able to perform basic ballet technique such as the positions, single pirouette, and side split.) The program aims to raise dancers two levels above their current level of accomplishment in dance.
Scholarship students study a variety of dance forms, from classical technique to hip hop. An additional 6-month scholarship extension is possible, dependent upon performance.
Auditioning dancers are required to report for check-in at the Athletic Garage at 4:30 PM on Saturday. Auditions will begin at 5 PM. Dancers must be fluent in English and present valid identification such as a driver’s license or green card. Headshots and resumes are encouraged but not required.
Jazz, hip hop, and modern audition combos will be taught. Bring your own music for the freestyle portion!
