Debbie Allen Dance Academy
Basic Profile
The Debbie Allen Dance Academy in Baldwin Hills, CA, is a nonprofit organization that strives to bring quality arts education, and dance specifically, to children in Los Angeles and all over the country. Located in an area of Los Angeles rich in African-American arts and culture, DADA is a thriving studio with a warm atmosphere and a deep dedication to the art of dance.
The children’s professional dance academy curriculum has three main levels: Early Bird Academy, Pre-Academy, and Academy. This outstanding pre-professional program is the primary focus of the Debbie Allen Dance Academy. However, the studio also offers an open class program, in which both children and adults can attend drop-in classes.
DADA’s open class program has historically offered all-ages drop-in classes that mixed adult beginners with young academy pupils just starting out on an exciting path in dance. As of fall 2012, the new open class program offers many classes for specific age ranges. Most classes are labeled as Youth or Adult on the open-class schedule.
The Debbie Allen Dance Academy has a free parking lot. As of our last check, visitors may also use the large Baldwin Hills / Crenshaw Plaza parking structures, which are extremely close to the studio.
