Question

I was diagnosed with OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) seven year ago. I have been on straight C-Pap and Auto C-Pap. I just had a new sleep study done because I was not sleeping. They have now diagnosed me with central sleep apnea or complex sleep apnea (both OSA and central). I didn’t have it before. Could the air pressure of the C-pap machine have messed up my brain’s ability to send the message to breath to my body? Is this happening to other people who have been on C-Pap for a long time?

Answer

I really do not know much about the effects of the use of C-pap machines on the human brain. A sleep doctor would most likely have the best answers for you. If you
need me to refer one, just send me amessage here.
