Teacher Training College 2017/2018 Admission Procedure

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission to the Three-Year Diploma inBasic Education(DBE)Programmein the Public Colleges ofEducation in Ghanafor the 2017/2018 academic year.

Admission Requirements:

1 WASSCE /SSSCE /TVETQualification Applicants

The general requirement for admission to the Diploma in Basic Education (DBE) programme is as follows:

i.WASSCEHolders:Credits(A1-C6) in five (5) subjects comprising three (3) core subjects, includingEnglish LanguageandCoreMathematics, and two elective subjects relevant to the programme of choice.

ii.SSSCEHolders:Credits(A-D) in five (5) subjects comprising three (3) core subjects, includingEnglish LanguageandCore Mathematics, and two (2) elective subjects relevant to the Programme of choice.

III.TVET HOLDERS:Applicants must havecredits in five (5)subjects comprising three (3) core subjects, which must includeEnglish Language and Mathematics, and two (2) elective subjects relevant to ones programme of choice.

iii.Candidates awaiting the MAY/JUNE, 2017 WASSCE Results can also apply.

iv.Online Application Procedure:

Applicants will first make a payment ofOne Hundred and FortyGhanaCedis (GHC 140.00)into theColleges of Education – GhanaAccount at any Branch of

i)UniBank(Ghana) Ltd.

ii)Additionally, payment can also be made through mobile money wallet:Tigo Cash, Airtel Money, Vodafone Cash orMTN Mobile Moneyby dialling short code*924*8#from all networks.

v.Upon payment, applicants will be given the following information:

(A)A Personal Identification Number (PIN).

(B)An Admission Application Serial Number.

(C)The CoE Admission Website Address-admission.coeportal.edu.gh

iv)With this PIN, applicants will then visit the Colleges of Education Admission website:admission.coeportal.edu.ghand follow specific guidelines to fill the online application form.

NOTES

a)Applicants are advised to read to ensure they fully understand all related instructions before completing the application form.

b)Applicants are to note that applicationforms not properly completedwill not be processed.

c)After completing the online application form, an applicant will need to print a copy which should be sent withone passport photographanda copy/copiesof their results slips (where available) byEMS priority envelopeobtainable from Ghana Post nationwide and addressed to:

The Principal of the COLLEGE chosen.

d)Applicants will be notified of the receipt of their applications by SMS (text message) and should therefore providecorrect and reliable cell phone numberswhen completing the form online.

e)Applicants will also receive admission offer notifications by SMS and those who do not receive such notifications may understand it to mean that their applications were not successful.

f)Applicants are to note that the Colleges willcross-checkand verify the results of all applicants from theWest African Examinations Council. Applicants found to have submitted fake or falsified documents in support of their applications will be made to face the legal consequences of their actions.

Admissions willopen on Monday, 1st April, 2017andclose on Friday, 28th July 2017.
